Summer Traveling

As the Summer season begins, many people take vacations. So what precautions can you take to better insure safer travels? If you are planning on driving to your destination, have your car checked out and make sure it is in good maintenance. Also if your insurance does not offer a tow/lock out option on your auto insurance, consider something like triple A (AAA) automotive club. Also prepare for the possibility of being stuck some place. This is where the concept of a bug out vehicle bag comes in. There sources all over the internet to find good ideas to put in your bag, but I will suggest thinking about the wilderness survival rule of 3: 1) you can survive 3 minutes without oxygen or in icy water, 2) you can survive 3 hours in harsh conditions (heat counts) without shelter, 3) you can survive 3 days without water (if sheltered from harsh weather) and 4) you can survive 3 weeks without food. Simply put, if you get stuck in the middle of no where, how will you get along? Food, water, and shelter are great places to start!
